Week 5 Recap
615M1: Gabriels Pizza Vs. 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria – This week's headliner was supposed to be a clash of two top teams, which did not disappoint. This game provided a total of 6 regular time goals, half of which coming from Nasty Nate. Once in the shootout, however, it was the goalies Sammy P and new goalie Chaisson making clutch save after clutch save, or was it missed net after missed net? Either way it was Mr. Soccer himself Rob Carr getting the shootout win for 1000 Islands after a few rough weeks for 1000 Islands.
615M2: Keystorm Pub Vs. Don’s FIsh and Chips – The other early game hosted two mythical creatures on one side, with Andre the Giant and the Lopez-Ness Monster teaming up in the midfield for this one. After a slow start Keystorm has back-to-back wins with 3 goals from 3 different players in this one figuring it out. On the other side, Don’s has continued to struggle due to various injuries. Is Don’s potential superstar Axl Heyman actually out with a toe injury or waiting to be traded to another squad like 2018 Kawhi? Like father like son, Captain Jank the Tank was seen in the parking lot at 11:45pm after playing the early game.
800M1: Soccer Den Vs. R.P.A. - Only a week after narrowly defeating the league's most handsome team, Gabriel's Pizza turned their attention towards R.P.A and did not hold back. Emilio could be seen at half time pleading for mercy with his elder brother, however Carlos was simply not havin it. Issiah Beckstead continues to scare defenders, piling 4 onto his golden boot race. R.P.A has activated the Bat-Signal, will they be able to find their Batman to save them moving forward?
800M2: Village Pantry Vs. Trout – This late game started fast with the village slotting a goal within the first 100 seconds, but it was all downhill for the Pantry from there. Monster defensive performances by the Jelly fish and the hound dog kept the Pantry’s former golden boot winner Bobby Jupe quiet, while late in the second a bowling ball celebration took place by Trout members for their 5 fans. Jamie Nix secured the win for Trout getting the game winner late in the second half, while Gavin Clarke stole the show making his Trout tailgating debut.
Week 5 Power Rankings
1. Gabriel's Pizza - Still undefeated in regular time, very close call between top 2 teams.
2. Soccer Den - Issah had 4 this week + best goal differential = up!
3. 1000 Islands – Big win over 1st, but a shootout win.
4. Trout - Ahead of Pantry on goal differential + head-to-head matchup, upstream they swim
5. Village Pantry – Loss against the Fish, still ranked higher than the storm with fewer points. These boys are better than the record shows.
6. Keystorm Pub – Two clean wins back-to-back, things are clicking.
7. Don's Fish and Chips - The losses keep coming, down the list.
8. R.P.A - Been a while since a win, time to step it up, lots of time till playoffs.
Published 2025-06-22 17:46:54 by Michael Howard.
615M1: Village Pantry Vs. 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria - This one started with a 1000 Islands win written all over, owning a comfortable 3-0 lead going into half, highlighted by a Caleb Powers free kick. Unfortunately for the 1000 Islands Pantry boys, this was a potential comeback of the season game, with the bakery boys scoring 5 unanswered goals to steal a win right from under Porter’s nose. Curtis opened his golden boot tally with a PK, but it was Bruno leading the comeback win with 2 of his own.
615M2: Soccer Den Vs. Trout - With little to no subs, Soccer Den was able to recruit the other half of the brothers of destruction tag team to play goalie. Emilio struck fear into the Trout squad, intimidating various players out of capitalizing on multiple breakaways. Soccer Den’s finishing was much more elite on the other side of the field, with Beckstead getting 2 shots off without issue on a sprained ankle. Zach Burnside continues to steal goals this season, with a goal line clearance. The classic kick and run gave Trout some late chances but it wasn’t enough with Soccer Den getting the win. Now, who won the tailgating is up for debate with one squad rumoured to be dealing hotdogs postgame, but the other seen eating fruit at half with McDonalds post-game after watching the late game.
800M1: Keystorm Pub & Pizzeria Vs. R.P.A. - Seems as if top draft pick Dom Lopez is still MIA, if seen please report to Teddy, however good to see the illusive Andre the Giant out from his cave.“Chappy” was warned by Teddy pregame in this one pregame that he would be packing his bags if he didn’t start scoring, seems he answered the call netting a Hatrick to help take this one 3-1 against R.P.A. After a medal at OFFSSA soccer, Maddix seems intent on continuing his wrath adding one more to his goal tally, maybe Ray should threaten to send Maddix packing next week to get a hatty.
800M2: Gabrial’s Pizza Vs. Don’s Fish & Chips - Now this was an exciting game for all, and a defensive breakdown of the ages with a total of 10 goals in 90 minutes. Gabe’s pizza remains the only undefeated team for another week, wild to think considering it was Mr. Montieth's debut game of the season. After his game winner last week, Gabe’s has put their trust in Sid, giving him a PK in this one that he finished with ease, and Lutzy continues to step up for the defenders of the league scoring his third of the season. Also a special congrats to Gabes' own Conor Metcalfe on his first BMSL goal. Sadly none of these goals mattered as Gabes stayed hot this week scoring 5 with league vet Mike Lajames getting the game winner. Gabes co-captain Andrew Lajames was seen at McDonald's post-win, planning a team nutrition plan for the rest of the season.
Week 4 Power Rankings
1. Gabriel's Pizza - Still undefeated, what will next week bring?
2. Village Pantry - Huge comeback win and a young squad that continues to score more goals than anybody else = 2 rank jump
3. Soccer Den - Another good-looking team with a few good wins building up.
4. 1000 Islands - Back-to-back losses and a potential collapse of the year, rough fall from 2nd.
5. Don's Fish and Chips - Loss to the top team while missing captain Jank the Tank, no movement
6. Trout - Not as bad as below, not as good as above
7. Keystorm - One clean win = not last place + some momentum, long season to move up or down.
8. R.P.A - A few big losses building up, only one way to go from here.

Week 3 Recap
615M1: Gabriel Pizza Vs. Soccer Den - This match was a great game for the goalies and goalposts of the league, as they worked side by side to post a 0-0 regular-time finish. With multiple players out this week, not much to report other than a Gabes Pizza win after Justin Leeder secured the shootout win.
615M2: Keystorm Pub Vs. Village Pantry - The other early game had more goals and more action. Reports state that one heavy tackle in this match left Curtis Murray momentarily dazed, dreaming about cinnamon buns and waterside rental properties with Fuoco heard laughing in the background. Nahbeel stepped up to score 2 for the pub boys, but it wasn't enough to stop the Jupe Bro's from slotting one in each and Chris Johnston from scoring his second in this game to win it late for the Pantry. With many players missing, it's hard to say what will happen next time these teams meet.
800M1: 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria Vs. Don's Fish & Chips - Another interesting contest with the Thousand Islands missing some top goal scorers. Porter stepped up in their absence, playing D, scoring 2 goals, including a header, to tie the game with 15 minutes left. Late league addition, Sid took that personally and scored a game-winning goal to respond with 5 minutes left. Dylan Lutz was also seen scoring in this one. Could this be the year of the Defenders?
800M2: Trout Vs. RPA - Trout vs RPA was another story of one team missing players, and it wasn't Trout missing players. Highlights include Gavin Clarke aiming to break the single-game scoring record for Trout. He could only manage a hat-trick, with fellow Troutman Micah advising not to miss PKs if he was to break the Dutchman's record. Tim Winter worked hard all game, unselfishly earning a PK for Super Sub Smelly to finish to ruin Mittsy's clean sheet. Hard times for RPA with a cramp taking Emilio out of the game when RPA showed signs of life. Special shoutout to Mitts Jr. for making his men's league debut as a spare.
Week 3 Power Rankings
1. Gabriel's Pizza - Under new management, Gabe's starts hot remaining unbeaten to start the season.
2. 1000 Islands - Missing their top goal scorers and still almost got it done this week, great start to the season.
3. Soccer Den - Good start to the season with a shootout loss, not bad.
4. Village Pantry - Could be in 7th place, but goal scoring is not an issue with these doughboys.
5. Don's Fish and Chips - Only their first win of the season, placement is debatable.
6. Trout - One big win against a team without their young talent isn't that impressive, keep on swimming!
7. R.P.A - Worst goal differential after a pounding from the fish, hopefully more players next week will help.
8. Keystorm - No wins yet = last place, long season though.
Apologies for the unfinished previous news article, won't happen again.

Week 5 & 6 Highlights and Rankings
Ladies and Gents, mostly Gents, welcome to our weekly write up. The kid is back baby and just before the long weekend. My apologies for missing the week 5 write up and rankings, so we will jump right in and congratulate our new #1 in Village Pantry as they handed the #1 Doughboys a 5-1 thumping. Captain Underpants Murdawg even scored for the Village People. In other action we had a couple of hat tricks with JL3 scoring 3 for RPA in a statement 6 nil game over the Stinky Fish. We also had Gavin Clarke extend his goal scoring streak to start the season to 5 games, while getting credit for 3 in a 6-4 W for Keystorm. As for the rest of the scorers, well you check out the Results page.
Week 6 saw some closely contested games with both games on M2 needing a shootout. Early action saw Keystorm slip past the Defending Champs in a game in which we shall call RPA “Prince” as they were formerly known as Keystorm. Young Chappy and Cosmo Kramer scored for Keystorm with Bash Brother M Coughlin and JL3 scoring for Prince.
Late game M2 saw the scores double with a 4-4 draw after 90 minutes. Brister Slivovitz and Lloyd Christmas scoring singles and Wesley Snipes with a pair for Soccer Den. Goalie JearBear with the win for SD, now mind you it’s not like he wanted to win as he got caught having a siesta with Iron Head Hayward scoring from Half. Thankfully they still got the W. Also scoring for the Doughboys was Samise the Gray and MacDaddy with a pair.
Early M3 (thank you for playing on tiny field) saw a crazy number of goals with 14 in total. Clearly the goalies weren’t respected this night as the D thought hey let’s see if they can make a save and didn’t defend their goal. Or was it they just said eff it and played a 0-4-6 run and gun. The fans loved every minute of it as Team Spares scored 5 with co-capt Maddix sniping a pair and River Boy Lawrence adding a single in the W. Losing side saw Yogi the bear with 1, Golden Boot Jupe with 2, Nicolai Campeau with his 2nd straight 2 goal game, and Jose Reyes scoring his first career BMSL goal, congrats Jose.
Late game M1 was an absolute battle of the basement. Team Trout came out on top with White lightning scoring a single and super spare Stoner getting the GW. Mittsy was the MVP for Shawarma as he kept the speed of Trout at bay with some aggressive play. Good thing super sub scored as Capt Howie couldn’t snipe if he tried. MVP for team Trout was the god himself Perseus as he slayed those dogs in the rain to provide for the boys, well done son.

Week 4 Highlights and Rankings,
Again shame on Commish Sevy for taking on too much and not being able to get a proper game summary sunbmitted. I will however get some highlights from this past week that desrve mention...
We shall start with the streaker, no it's not Will Ferrell, but rather the Talented Mr. Clarke who has tallied a goal in every game to start the season for Keystorm. We also had another streak with Gibby getting his 2nd straight 3 goal, Hat Trick game for the Village People. Not to be outdone newcomer to the BMSL Micha scored a quatro for Trout. We also had a couple firsts with Jack Lyon, Carson Dowds, and Ben Fleming each getting their first career BMSL snipes. Last but not least, it wouldn't be a Tuesday night soccer if Ain't No Holowack Girl didn't score.

Week 3 Highlights and Rankings:
My apologies for the late summary and rankings. Times flies when you’re having kids.
Ok so early game week 1 was a nail biter. Jason Smellink is very much so missing his bro Rom as his much-maligned team has been beaten down these first 3 weeks. Good news is they finally scored their first goal, bad news is it was the spare who scored it, and congrats to new Brockville resident Bruno in scoring his first career BMSL goal. Now on the winning side we had some firsts, Maddix St. Louis with his first career BMSL Hatty and Steak Sauce scoring his first career BMSL goal, heck it might even be his first career snipe in soccer, congrats. Rounding out the scoring for TI Pie was Chris Johnson (3) and Emilio (2). Solid 9-1 Thumping.
Early game M2 was a much tighter affair as the #1 ranked Gabriel Pizza faced off against the defending champs RPA. The Doughboys spotted RPA 2 early goals off the boot of Bash Brother MM and a couple beauties they were. But that lead wouldn’t hold as everyone wants their own PJ correct? And Gabe’s has theirs as Patrick Johnston scored to make it 2-1. The teams traded PK’s with Ryan Mackey making it level at 2 and Juan Salom getting the lead right back. The real MacDaddy in this game added another to make it 3-3 and that’s how this one finished. A sudden death shootout ended in round after Carter made up for what he called a weak game and saved the biscuit to earn Gabe’s the 4-3 shootout victory.
Late game M1 saw the high-flying Soccer Den take on Hot Cross Buns Village Pantry. And the ingredients were spot on in this one for Village Pantry as they handed SD a 5-1 L. Lone goal for the Den was Brister Slivovitz while Captain Chris steadied the squad and sniped a single for VP. When Captain Curtis was asked who scored, he delivered the following quote: “I’ll check as I was riding the pine when we scored like 3 goals” Sounds to me like Captain Chris found the ideal lineup. In short from reliable sources, we had the fearless defender DD Fuoco with 1 and Rambo Gibbons with his first career BMSL Hatty. Lots of first this week, I feel like I am back in high school or something.
Late game M2 was the night we got to see if the Fish will sink or swim, and with the 4-nil score, we clearly found our answer. Good news for team Trout of Greek god Perseus is really starting to flourish under the tutelage of Captain Howie. Another sold feature is the team willing to stick around post-game to determine their faults, or maybe just drink some beers to forget about it. I’ll let you decide. On the winning side we had yet another first as Chappy scored his first career BMSL snipe, congrats Chappy. Rounding out the scoring were the usual suspects in Captain Cobra, The More Talented Clarke, and Cosmo Kramer. Earning the shutout was super spare Will the Thrill Moore.

Week 2 Highlights & Rankings
Reminder: Tuesday July 9th is the 1000 Islands Brewery night in support of the Brockville & Area Food Bank and August 24th is our year end banquet night.
OK so I will start with both games on the field I did not ref, M1. Early action says the garlic boys taking on the robots, and this time technology prevailed. RPA (1-1) battles back after their week 1 L to a convincing 6 love W. Scoring for team Shawarma Garden (0-2) was a repeat from week 1, be sure to check out who scored in the first week to get your Sherlock Holmes on for week 2. For the winning squad we had the goal heard around Brockville as wild cat Will scored with a thunderous battle cry, Law firm Coughlin & McGlynn each scored with Juan also adding a single and young Leeder with a pair. Welcome back Baker with the shutout for RPA.
Late game M1at least featured a game in which both teams scored a goal as Soccer Den (2-0) kept their good start rolling with a 5-3 victory over Keystorm Pub (1-1). In a losing cause we had the usual suspects of Clark & Clarke getting one each with Wesley Moore adding a single. On the winning side DJ Devan got his first of the year with Lloyd Christmas adding 4 to bring his Gold Boot Lead to 7 early snipes.
Now to field M2 and the 2 games I witnessed first-hand, being the ref and all. We shall start with the late game and the hungry team Trout (0-2) taking on Hot Cross Buns Village Pantry (1-1). The pace of play to start this game was the quickest I’ve seen so far, but their endurance was awfully like what I’ve been feeling lately lol. Soooo about some soccer, late game M2 was the 2nd of what were both good games for one team and bad for the other. In this game it was Village Pantry takin home a 4-0 win. Golden Bobby added a pair with another beauty assist to set up John Rambo with his first career BMSL snipe. Rounding out the scoring was Yogi Bear with the ageless former captain Scott Teddy Tedford making some key saves and even a 2 pad stack.
Early game was a bit a learning curve for some young whipper snappers, as life beyond grade 12 includes more than just Prom Dates and EOSSA Soccer. TI Pie (1-1) started the game with 8 players while a slew more trickled in mid game to get them to a full squad, heck even a few spares. That’s about all the good we can say re: the so called “Pizza Bowl” as the Doughboys proved why they’re still the top ranked team in the BMSL with another clean sheet and 5 love W. One the winning side, Gabriel Pizza (2-0) had 3 different scorers, Highway to Heaven, PJ, and Mustachio Samwise Gray with the hat trick and a couple beauty goals. Earning the shutout was Carter Gutierrez as he faced many shots from TI Pie who just could not buy one this evening.

Week 1 Highlights and Rankings
First off welcome to our home page, where I try my best to chirp as many of you as I can. On top of that, some really important information can be found on this page.
The first important thing I need you to do is “Save the Dates”. We’ve got 2 very important dates to make note of…
Date #1: Tuesday July 9th will be our 1000 Islands Brewery Day in support of the Brockville and Area Food Bank. We will have a friendly competition to see which team can raise the most money and food via donations. Collect your empties, charge for your beers, whatever it is, get started now as the winner will receive a special prize that has yet to be determined. The Brewery boys in Jason and Owain will once again be bringing their Keg Trailer on site to donate Beer sales towards the cause and I will be bringing my flattop to cook up something special.
Date #2: Saturday August 24th will be our Year End Banquet with over $1,000 in prizes, tons of food and many many laughs, usually at my Captain Smellink expense.
OK Week 1 Highlights:
Early game M1 featured the Doughboys from Gabriel Pizza vs our new sponsor Shawarma Garden. And what a rude awakening it was for team Shawarma as they got spanked like it was 1982. Scoring for team Shawarma was the Garlic as neither player could find the back of the net while Gabes had 5 different scorers as Highway to Heaven Landon, Chevy not to be confused with Sevy, Big Mack, PJ and Chase the Ace. Lone bright spot for Shawarma was tendy Mittsy who was able to get his kicks to half court
Early game M2 was an absolute barn burner as the youngsters who needed permission slips to be out after dark took down the defending champs by a score of 5-4. In a losing cause we had 2 new players to the league snipe their first 2 BMSL goals as Juan Skydiver Salom scored 2 beauties with Tyler Vaporizer Gagliano sniped 2 for losing squad RPA. On the winning side we saw TI Pie find a way to win with Chris Johnson opening the scoring. Joining the party was River Boy Akotanyi, The Coburn that Jumped over the Moon with singles and Maddix co-capt with a pair including the winner.
Late game M1 featured the biggest whiners of the league in Soccer Den taking on the best logo in the league in Trout. This result is par for the course as team Trout usually starts swimming downstream midway through the season as the sluggish start continued with a 3-1 loss. In a losing cause we had former Golden Boot winner Spaghetti Legs Hanna with the lone snipe. On the winning side we had Hawaii 5-0 getting all 3, man it pains me to write that.
Late game M2 had Village Pantry playing against Keystorm Pub. This was a hard fought battle with both teams coming ready to play and a few bounces here and there that could’ve changed the outcome. On the winning side Captain Cobra drafted young and they supplied all the scoring they needed with Clarke & Clark doing the scoring. Don’t worry it wasn’t Will the Thrill with the snipes, but rather his boy Gavin with 2 and Clark Moore with 2. On the losing side 2023 Golden Boot winner Bobby Jupe got on the scoreboard early and teammate Nicholas Campeau with his first career BMSL goal for the losing side.
Be sure to check the schedule for next weeks game times.

Week 6 Summary and Rankings:
Early game M1 saw the highly touted Gabriel Pizza vs the cellar dweller Village Pantry and it looks like Pizza Boys were looking ahead to their matchup in week 7 vs their Pizza counter parts as they dropped a 3-1 decision. Scoring for VP was rookie Chris Monteith with a pair and super spare Isaiah with a single while rookie Bobby Jupe scored the lone goal.
Early game M2 featured the young stallions named RPA against the swamp donkey Trout. Even though the rankings had team Trout higher, it didn’t help as they lost 4-1 and took home some injuries in the process. Young Deko scored a beauty in losing cause for Trout while sophomore Gavin Clarke and rookie Justin Leeder added single with Cobra sniping a pair.
Late game M1 had DLK taking on Soccer Den and look out folks we’ve got a streaker as DLK earned their first win streak of the season with a 3-2 W. Shawarma King once again scored for DLK with M&M Meekler and Mackey rounding it out. In a losing cause, Liam Bush and their spare scored for the Den.
Late game M2 saw the struggling Keystorm take on the charging TI Pie and despite to snipes from Chris Johnson, team TI could not overcome the stellar Half play for Keystorm and took the 3-2 L. Scoring for the winners was Samwise the great with a pair and tipsy toed Dillan Fournier with a single

Week 4 Recap & Rankings
Sorry for the delay in the weekly write up, this thing called Work is keeping me busy. Speaking of which, anyone looking for insurance or investment advice come see Sevy.
Shameless plug is over and onto the issue at hand. Arguing calls. There is no place for it, and I’ve stated it year after year, 100% we will make mistakes as refs, suck it up. Jakob Hennage was called for offside the game I watched, it wasn’t even close as Gerry missed the guy on the other side, he said absolutely nothing, and I applaud him for that. Please understand that this is a gentlemen’s league, not one of us grown men will be playing at the World Cup stage, and this isn’t even the finals.
Highlights of the week saw Gabriel Pizza narrowly escape with a 1-0 Shootout Victory over DLK. Carter Guitterez with the big save to earn the Shut-out and W for the Doughboys. Meanwhile at the other end of the rankings, Soccer Den gets off the schneid and earns a big 6-2 win over the Pantry Boys. In a losing effort Clark Kent with a single to add onto his Golden Boot Tally (6) and Monteith with the single. Winning squad had Lloyd Christmas, BushX x2, Samwise Gray, PJ and a little TMG scoring. Early game on M1 featured 2 of the top3 ranked squads on paper, sadly the matchup didn’t live up to the hype as TI Pie took down team Trout in a 3-1 fashion. This game even featured a goal called after the ref decided to take back an offside call because he just didn’t want to argue with a grown man over offside, pick up any sarcasm there? Captain Teddy’s goose egg was flattened at the end after Dr Death took out Lefty Presty resulting in a penalty shot goal and the lone tally for Trout. Props to Campeau for not only bringing the tall boys but also a scoring touch with his first of the year along with Farmer Eric and Alistair MacDonald with his first career BMSL snipe!
Now comes the game between RPA and Keystorm Pub, or should I call them the Keystorm Titan because this team is imploding faster than the….too soon? A 4-0 shellacking was well earned by RPA with a young spare getting his first career BMSL snipe, he shall remain nameless. Also scoring for RPA was Will the Thrill, Jay Liebner and Daniel LaRusso.

Week 2 Rankings Updated (in brackets previous ranking)
Published 2023-06-05 12:58:00 by Jeff Severson.
Week 2 Summary:
615M1 – Feature game of the week saw team Trout take home a 5-2 W over DLK Homelife. This gets them back to 500 with their first win of the season while dropping DLK to an 0-2 record. Killer was back at it sniping 2 for Trout with wily veteran Preston, Edge, and Lawrence of Arabia scoring their first of the season. In a losing effort the Shawarma King scored again with team captain Smelly getting his first off his melon. Nixy and Porter talked things out and the chemistry seems to be clicking a bit more with team Trout.
615M2 – Young vs Old is how this was billed with Village Pantry playing a with a chip on their shoulder against the top ranked Keystorm Squad. This battle went back and forth until the final frame with Keystorm scoring 2 in last 10 minutes to pull out a 6-4 win. Clark Kent from the pantry and Dillan from Keystorm each a hatty for their respective squads. Rounding out the scoring for Village Pantry was Chris Montieth with his first career BMSL snipe while brew master Curry, Donkey Kong, and the Son of Sam each adding a single.
800M1 - Late M1 saw the high-flying RPA fresh off a 9 spot in week 1 taking on the defending champs looking to get their first win. This game had plenty of negotiations between captain Teddy and ref Becker, ultimately team TI took control of this game and never looked back. Hewey Lewis was in the news and the Christophers scored for TI with Teddy earning the shutout and decisive 3 love W
800M2 – Late game M2 saw the doughboys, Gabriel Pizza for clarification facing off against Soccer Den. Another W for the youngsters here as Captains Hei Hei and Lucy is now 2-0 with this 4-2 victory. Also, some first timers scored as Bobby Jupe (2) and Devan Johnston (1) each with their first career BMSL goals and slick rick scoring as well for Gabes. In a losing effort the ageless wonder Johnny Kaku scored one along with teammate Samwise Gray. Rumblings could be heard from Harry & Lloyd afterwards that the Den plans a player only meeting where they will watch the captains run the hill. Good luck with that.
Great efforts so far, stay tuned for Week 2 Rankings Friday….

Week 1 Game Summary:
The schedule has been posted and the divisions had to be altered. Check out standings for updated divisions and be sure to check schedule for your game time next week. Couple things to make note on:
Early Game M1 saw a tight battle between our newest sponsor in The Village Pantry vs the best logo around in team Trout. The youngsters came out with a chip on their shoulder after being snubbed with the #8 ranking, as they battled out a 2-1 W over #3 Trout. Captain Clarke scored along with his good buddy Dax, but it was the D line that limited the fish mongers’ chances. One thing can be certain, team Trout will be chirping each other quite often with the combo of howie/porter/nixxy so stay tuned for some entertaining games whether they be winning or losing. In a losing effort, killer Kawalski sniped but it was too little too late. MVP of the game was our webmaster Shane Curless as he continued the long tradition of post-game dogs with LVP of the night going to Curtis Murray for failing to bring his team the famous Cinnamon Buns from Village Pantry. I suspect some future treats if they keep winning.
Early Game M2 featured the highly touted Keystorm Pub vs the upstart DLK Homelife. Everyone loves a good Rom Com, don’t they? Well in this case team DLK was not laughing in the end as they couldn’t take advantage of a short handed Keystorm squad to start the game. Once the reinforcements secured the line it was only up from there. Big credits to keeper Will the Thrill Moore for an outstanding effort between the pipes and thank you to spare McGlynn for got the call to play 10 minutes into the game and rushed over to score both for the Storm. In a losing effort the Shawarma King potted his first.
Late Game M1 was the first of 2 battles between the Doughboys and this battle went right down the end and was decided in a shootout with Gabriel Pizza earning the W with a 3-2 Shootout win over the defending champions 1000 Islands. This also marks the first W for new captains Lucy and Hei Hei as they came prepared with Hei Hei scoring his first of the season and Lucy sporting a new Do to allow him to run faster, according to his barber. Also sniping for Gabes and earning his first career BMSL goal was Alberto with new slick back mullet wearing Carlos getting the shootout goal. On the TI side we had Yogi the Bear and Depaolis with 1 each respectively.
Late Game M2 gave the fans their moneys worth if goals are what they were after as these 2 teams combined to score more goals (13) than the previous 3 games combined (10). Let’s just saw both captains will be going back to the drawing board to try to secure their back ends, unless run and gun is the desired style and if so get your popcorn ready because it could be fun. On the losing side for Soccer Den, we had Slivovitz and Super Spare Wesley scoring singles with Gavin Bush adding a pair. Meanwhile team RPA Captain Cobra also earned his first career BMSL W while scoring a single, King Cobra scoring 2 and the young legs of Gavin Clarke and Justin Leeder each throwing in their hats with 3.
Rankings come out early tomorrow….

Ladies and Gentlemen, the draft is complete, trades are done and the teams have been posted. Start date still planned for May 23rd but no word yeton when city will give us clearance. Please refrain from texting me asking when the season will begin, because if it's not been posted here, I don't know. With that being said, the post-draft pre-season rankings are in.
We will work our way to the top ranked squad...
#8 - The Village Pantry - First off welcome to the league Village Pantry as our newest sponsor, and also welcome new captain Clark Moore. The C&C Music Factory came out swinging in their first draft as they completed a record 7 trades, unfortunately for them I feel like this recipe was a little off and bottomed out
#7 - The Soccer Den - Congrats to Jess Beattie on being selected in the first round, unfortunately for team Soccer Den the good start to their draft didn't trickle down til the end. It looks like we know who is who on the Dumb & Dumber team
#6 - Gabriel Pizza - Another first time co-captain team in Lucy and Heihei trying to make their mark. To me this team has lots of unknown factors that could quickly catapult them to #1, but with the talent known on the other teams, a bottom ranking early is suitable
#5 - 1000 Islands Pizza - One notch ahead of their doughboy rivals, this team takes on a whole new look. Deko has officially cut the umbilical cord and let Teddy off on his own like a good Panda Bear would. Question is, did Teddy watch the wise master and churn out another winner?
#4 - RPA - The last of our first time player captains, Cobra drafted a solid mixture of young and old. This run and gun team is very strong up front and scoring goals will not be an issue, question is, will the old bodies on the back end keep up or will injuries derail the dream season?
#3 - Trout - This team would be ranked #1 if team logo's carried any weight, unfortunately these rankings are based off talent alone and captains Howie and Sir Nix a Lot went with the mentality, if you can't beat em, draft em. Question is, will taking on team Powers secure them into one of the elite squads in 2023?
#2 - DLK - Don't let this smooth talking Dr. prescribe you something you can't handle, this team is destined for success. Well at least when the captains pays off the commish, it helps in securing a #2 ranking. This team might have a case of the Boondock Saints if you start messing with the brothers, so stay safe out there folks
#1 - Keystorm Pub - On paper this team is second to none. They tick off all the boxes and were drafting studs while everyone else was drafting duds. If this team doesn't beat themselves, they should be sitting up on this perch for sometime while they sail off into the sunset

Congratulations to 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria on winning not only the BMSL regular season but also the Championship Playoff round! Helluva game played in other than ideal conditions. She was a wet one but that didn't stop Will the Thrill from scoring early after his recent Colorado High wedding. With TI up 1-0 the DD then moved up into the box on a1 free kick and with a fortutious bounce he was able to find the ball on his foot and put it home from 10 yards out. RPA was resellent in getting one back before half on a nice snipe from Zac Efron. But the suffocating D on TI didn't give up many chances second half and eventually Gavin Clarke scored to put TI up 3-1.
Also big congratulations to rookie Isaiah Beckstead on taking home the Golden Boot award in his first year.
Helluva season lads, see you all this Saturday, 5pm start at the Keystorm Pub

Week 2 Playoffs Complete
615M1 - Well there is a changing of the guard as the defending champs have officially been eliminated with a 4-0 loss to the regular season champs in TI Pie. Pitching the shutout the ageless wonderbar Teddy Tedford. Scoring for the winners was Yogi the bear, Cole Moorhouse, Iron Head and Gav Clarke. Scoring for Dr B, well no one
615M2 - A close game with a final score of 4-3 as this also eliminated DLK FC from championship contention. In a losing effort King Cobra sniped 2 with Ashton Floelleck adding a single. On the winning squad and helping improve their team to 2-0 was Lloyd Christmas and the NEW golden boot leader, Wesley Beckstead with his 3rd straight 3goal game
800M1 - The doughboys crust will not rise in 2022 as Gabriel Pizza was officially eliminated from championship contention with a 6-2 loss to team Trout. Isaiah Beckstead and Dr. Love scored for Gabes while Clark Moore notched his first playoff hat trick of his young BMSL career, former golden boot winner Jakob Hennage with 1, Sam Gray with his first of the season and Nixy with an absolute snorer from 30 out which found a way to the back of the net. In a winning effort Mr. Edgeley with the extra effort as he brought in some Fuji apple slices to gain a secret advantage. When asked after the game about the slices, he could be heard saying, I ain't paying for that F**cking Honeycrisp
800M2 - This saw the 1 win regular season RPA doubling their efforts with their 2nd straight playoff win with a 4-1 W over the Keystorm Pub. Imad Shawarma Garden scored in a losing effort with Golden Boot chaser Christopher Johnson scoring 2 more, Andre the Giant with a single and Zach Efron with a single of his own.

Week 1 Playoffs, that's a wrap and now a roundup:
615M1 action saw the Keystorm Pub taking on Team Trout. As expected with both teams having positive WAR (not really sure what it is but that's what all the other sports leagues are doing so why not the BMSL) a close battle ensued. Gibby once again stood tall at 5 foot nothin making some big saves off youngsters Gray and Moore while oldtimers aka OG Clamato boy with the corner kick for the W. It has been argued it went straight in while also being an own goal, regardless a clean sheet 1-0 victory gets Keystorm off to good start in Division A
615M2 featured Gabriel Pizza vs RPA. This game appeared to favor the Doughboys but RPA had their best attendance to date and the team gelled en route to a 6-4 victory. Christopher Johnson with the Hatty to lead the way for RPA with Andre the Giant, Zack Efron and Eberth Montoya rounding out the snipes. In a losing cause older Becker with a single and Golden Boot leader with a hat trick of his own
800M1 Had the defending champs Dr Belanger Chiropractic taking on Soccer Den. The champs got down early and were chasing all game and couldn't catch up. Another Beckstead Wesley equaled his cousin's efforts with 3 of his own to keep pace in the Golden Boot chase. Nick Tahiani Treat added a single for Soccer Den who put the champs behind the 8 ball after week 1. In a losing effort Elijah Wood sniped with Will Moore adding the 2nd, only thing is Will Moore plays for SD so I guess an own goal is a goal and he's on the board
800M2 saw the regular season champs 1000 Islands facing off against DLK FC. With a final score of 2-1, a close match it was even if play dictated otherwise, as TI takes gets the early W. Iron Head and DD Fuoco scored for the winners with the new kid in town, King Cobra Lasalle scoring for DLK.

Congratulations to 1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria on winning the regular season title, but she is a whole new season folks so good luck to all teams on their new beginnings for the coveted BMSL Championship.
Week 8 Write Up
I'm going to start with the late game on M2 and ladies and gentlemen welcome to the BMSL, soon to be better known as the Beckstead Men's Soccer League as these 2 "kids" put on a show in a highly entertaining match featuring Gabriel Pizza vs Soccer Den. In the end Gabriel Pizza walked away with the W after penalty kicks decided it. Eric "Semenator" Baumann was a little too excited for his post match date resulting in him blowing high over the net and leaving Dr. Love to score and get the W. The Beckstead boys started early though as Wesley put his team up 1-0 on a nice crack. Soon after Lloyd Christmas scored another to put SD up 2-0. The Doughboys were starting to buckle and break from within as the father son combo were fighting more than playing. Turns out all they needed was happy Sirus the Virus with a perfect corner kick onto the head of Dr. Love to kick start a run of 4 unanswered goals giving Gabes the lead at 4-2. Dr. love scored his 2nd of the night with Isaiah scoring 2 to build onto his golden boot lead. But the boys in white did not give up as Wesley scored 2 in the 2nd half to tie it at 4. Battles back and forth for both teams until ultimately, Gabriel won in PK.
Early game M2 saw another good match between the Keystorm Pub and Dr. Belanger. Back and forth first half with neither team able to solve the tenders, but that quickly changed as Justin Bryce picked up his first of the season early in the 2nd half. Keystorm answered the call with a goal of their own from super spare Jason Curry, must have been the socks. Dr. B was not to be outdone when Deadpool had a good run to flick the ball over outstretched goalie sub Warren Smith. Keystorm heads into the playoffs on a bit of a slide losing 2 in a row for the first time this season while Dr. B looks to be finding a groove winning 2 of last 3.
Early game M1 was very colourful from what I've heard. And by colours it appears yellow to be the favourite of them all. And no Gerry does not get paid for every yellow card he gives. This was however a time for celebration as DLK FC picked up their first W of the season after they heard rumblings of some Bulletin Board material from team captain Howie off Trout. Joe "10 goals" Morasse with the regulation goal for DLK while Clark Moore scored the lone single for the fisherman. Scoring in PK was Clark for Trout and Rauf the European super spare along with Mad Flo Plashchka. Did this W earn DLK their first jump the rankings? Stay tuned...
Late game M1 was a great first half followed by a dominating second half from TI Pie. Pool Boy Andrew Evans scored the lone single for RPA with Yogy the Bear & Iron Head scoring singles with the Hat Trick boy Clark Moore scoring 3. TI Pie will certainly hold onto their #1 seed throughout the playoffs and are the early favourites to win the title

Week 6 Write Up
Congrats to Andrew Kreeft for winning himself a $25GC to Sportcheck for correctly guessing the hidden question in last week's rankings. Stay tuned for more trivia in the next few weeks posted here in weekly write up or rankings.
615 M1 saw #5 Soccer Den take down #2 Dr. Belanger Chiropractic with a score of 3-1. Lone snipe in a losing cause was Brister Slivovitz. For the winning squad Harry Dunne got his first of the year while youngster Wesley Beckstead had a pair including an absolute beauty from 25 out, going BarDown. Congrats to both teams as well for staying well past their bedtimes to see how the 8pm games finished off. Remember it's not about who wins or loses, but rather who has the most fun and both these teams are on a roll.
615 M2 pitt #1 TI Pie vs #8 DLK FC, and in week 5 we saw the #8 squad take down the #1 squad, sadly this could not be repeated as 1000 Islands easily dispatched the green machine with a 2-Love score. DLK hopefully gets on the right track after some injuries and no shows these last few weeks. Scoring again for winning squad was Cole Take it to the House Moorhouse as he's hot on the trails of teammate Iron Head for the Golden Boot. And making the headlines and showing the youngster how it's done was Will the Thrill Clarke with his first of the year.
800 M1 was a nail biter as team Trout took down the Doughboys in a shootout. In a losing effort Isaiah Beckstead added a single along with super spare not to be named. On the winning side captain Howard directed his squad with one of his own while Clark Moore rounded it out. When interviewed after the game Capt Howard said even with the super spares scoring both goals they still couldn't catch a fish. Soon after the reporter asked isn't young Beckstead a member of Gabes? Capt Howard admited to be feeding the reporter fake news in hopes of selling more bites.
800 M2 was worth the price of admission if looking for zero defence and lots of goals is what you want, as Keystorm rebounded with an 8-3 W over RPA. RPA kept it close early as Zach Burned his way through the D to tie it at 1 in the first half, but soon after that Keystorm was able to right the ship and take control. Jimmy the Greek scored a couple in a losing effort including one from 30 yards out over the vertically challenged Gibby. Meanwhile the ref lost ink writing down all the goals for the winning team so here they are, Killer Kowalski, Imad have you tasted my ShawarmaTaoufiq, Justin Chaisson, MacDaddy, Tommy do you hear me now Pilla, Isaiah Tunga and The Beer King adding a pair, could have been 3 if the ref didn't call offside.
Fun game for this week, find me the Movie Character in this write up and tell me the BMSL players actual name and the movie of reference. Cut-off date 5pm Tuesday, must be emailed to me with the following: 1. movie character name 2. BMSL player name 3. movie title. 3. Keystorm Pub (3) Probably got caught looking ahead as they played #8 Gabriel Pizza, lesson learned young grasshoppa
4. Trout (3) Very good game played vs TI Pie, but a L is a L and down we go
5. Soccer Den (6) Dumb & Dumber figuring things out and putting some W's together
6. Gabriel Pizza (8) HUGE win vs the #1 ranked squad leap frogs them up a couple spots
7. RPA (5) Lady luck was not on their side as a 5-2 drubbing cements their status in the rankings
8. DLK FC (7) Can anyone tell me the song Tom Cruise sang in the car? Weekly Write Up Week 5:
Early game M1 featured #1 ranked Keystorm +2 favored over #8 ranked Gabriel Pizza. And a 2-goal differential it was, just in the opposite order of what Brockvegas odds had predicted. The Doughboys pulled off the major upset and got their first W of the year. Cyrus the Virus figured out how to have his feet do the talking with a pair of snipes alongside youngster Isaiah Beckstead with one of them being a beauty chip over a vertically challenged goalie (Gibby). Scoring in a losing effort was the veteran Justin Chaisson and the Beer King himself Owain Devlin, with his first career BMSL snipe.
Early game M2 saw the defending champs once again stepping up to the plate and dispatching a worthy opponent with a convincing 5-2 victory. Leading the way for Dr. Belanger was Dylan Fournier with the hatty. Also scoring for Dr.B and getting bragging rights in the Poletta household, Danny Boy popped a couple past his brother. When asked after the game how it felt to score 2 on his brother, his quick response was I expected to score more as he sipped on a cold Coors Light. In a losing effort for RPA, Chris Johnson and Lefty Preston tallied their goals. Shoutout to goalie Chris Davidson who thought he was a skinny kid running a marathon until he realized he was a goalie and lost at half.
Late game M1 saw 2 teams lacking bodies as they combined for 2 spares total. Please remember to contact your captain early if you know you cannot make the game, I have a list of spares wanting to play so please let us know and we will find bodies to replace. Now after all that fun, Soccer Den continued to rise up the standings with a solid 5-1 victory. Pacing SD was spare Isaiah Beckstead with 3 (5 on the night isn't so bad) and Liam Bush with a pair. Sorry Liam hopefully get you officially listed on the rosters soon. On the losing side, Ashton "give this kid a dime to cut his hair" Selleck replied for his first snipe in a few years. Just think how fast you could be without that hair.
Late game M2 was a battle between #2 ranked 1000 Islands and #3 ranked Trout. This battle went back and forth with each team hitting a post or two. Heck even the goalies looked quick out there with Mittzy and Teddy running around to clear a few balls. In the end Cole Moorhouse led the way for TI Pie with both goals in a 2-1 victory. His first of the night came on a beauty touch from 30 yards out over an outstretched Mittzy. Lone reply for team Trout was captain Howard, to bad co-captain Nix couldn't finish from 10 yards out or this would have been a different game. Thankfully the crowd heckled the crap out of him on his 10-yard-wide shot.
Good luck to all teams in week 6
